In America๐ฝ ๐บ๐ธ, the World Animal Union organized the World Plant-Eating Championship. They sent out a call to the whole world, and since the first prize was a large diploma and a gold medal, they expected a large number of competitors to apply. And they did!
Applications started coming in almost immediately.
The first to call was a cow from Switzerland ๐จ๐ญ named Milka.
She was immediately entered into the competition and everyone thought she would be the favorite, because as is well known, a cow even has four (!) stomachs and can chew a lot of grass.
Then an elephant ๐ from Africa called.
โI also eat plants and I would like to compete,โ he announced himself via fax ๐ .
So they happily entered him as the second.
Then other animals started calling.
The sheep Mary๐, from the Scottish ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Highlands, was also considered the favorite, because sheep can eat a lot of grass. Mikesh the cat๐ from small but beautiful village called Hrusice, from Bohemia ๐จ๐ฟ, also called.
โAre you a cat?โ the organizers asked him.
โYes,โ Mikesh proudly replied.
โHey, but you donโt eat plants. You eat mice,โ they told him.
โYes, but youโve certainly seen a cat nibbling on grass. Thatโs to make its stomach feel better. So I eat grass and Iโd like to apply.โ
The organizers thought about it for a moment, and then the main leader of the competition, American๐ฝ ๐บ๐ธ panda๐ผ named Johnny, put the phone to his ear๐: โDo you have any other arguments that you can use to convince us?โ
โI do,โ Mikesh said calmly. โI donโt eat much grass, because Iโm small compared to a cow or an elephant, for example, but that doesnโt matter:
Itโs not important to win, but to take part!โ
The organizers then nodded their heads seriously and agreed: โThatโs right!โ And so the cat was added to the list of competitors and brave Mikesh went to America!
Many other animals from almost every country in the world๐ applied and the Championship could begin.
It was a BIG EVENT!
All the newspapers wrote about it, there were live broadcasts on TV and the Internet, and everyone watched with excitement how everyone would do, and with eager anticipation cheered on the representatives of their country.
Brave cat Mikesh didnโt have much chance of winning, but because he had a nice and cheerful nature, lots of people all over the World cheered for him and he became big star in his homeland!
And who ended up winning the entire championship?
It was an elephant! Not only because he trained diligently for the competition, ate a lot his whole life, didnโt leave anything out and chewed everything thoroughly, but also because (and itโs true, kids) it is scientifically proven that an elephant eats more than 130 pounds of food a day! Many of you don't even weigh that much! The elephant simply ate the most. Let's give him a round of applause...
And how did brave Mikesh turn out?
Mikesh ended up last. But that didn't bother anyone.
When he returned from America by planeโ๏ธ, thousands of fans were waiting for him at the airport and applauded him like a hero. After all, it's true: It's not important to win, but to participate!
And those who are not afraid, go to compete, and participate, become winners.
It is essentially their GREAT VICTORY over themselves.
